2008 Schedule The Midwest Rangers are following a new trail this year. After twelve years of running CMSA competitions, we have decided for change. I feel that we have put so much into CMSA that we have missed out on other great riding and shooting opportunities. We will be participating in other events with an emphasis on 19th century history and costuming. Some are listed below, more are in the works. Rob Arntzen, Midwest Rangers President and Founder. January 11-13, 2008 - Annual Ranger Roundup Dinner & Meeting, The Abbey Resort, Fontana, WI, Contact April 19-20, 2008 - President Grant's Birthday Celebration, Galena, IL. 19th Century Reenactment event, Dinner and Grand Ball. Hosted by the Spirits of the Galena Historical Society. Information July, 2008 - Jubilee State Park, Peoria, IL - Camp out and Trail Ride. (Date to be announced) August 1-3, 2008 - Cowboy Mounted Orienteering, Rock Cut State Park, Rockford, IL. The Midwest Rangers will send a team to this Competitive Mounted orienteering (CMO) event. It's like a scavenger hunt and trail ride combined. Details September, 2008 - Middlefork State Wildlife Area, Danville, IL - Camp out and Trail Ride (Date to be announced) October, 2008 - Guns, Horses, and BBQ, Dry Gulch Ranch, Winnebago, IL (Date to be announced)
